Looking for a bright spot in all this Coronavirus craziness? Why not create your own. I just ran across an article that says people are putting their Christmas lights back up as a sign of hope and to combat Coronavirus fears! Apparently, this is all coming from social media. According to “House Beautiful” magazine, Twitter users are calling for Christmas in March. In fact, the idea is taking the site by storm.
One Twitter user cited by the magazine tweeted out, ” What if we all put our Christmas lights back up? Then we could get in the car and drive around and look at them. That seems like a fair social distancing activity.”

Besides giving people something to drive around and look at, some Twitter users say it’s an excellent opportunity for parents and kids who are stuck at home to put their time to good use, as well as a fun activity. Other social media users say the idea would keep people from going out and possibly spreading the virus to others. The posts are accompanied by hashtags ranging from #coronakindness to #lightsforlife.
Personally, I think it’s a great idea. Heck, some of you may still have the lights hanging up anyway…so go ahead and turn them on. And since the idea is in House Beautiful, you don’t even have to worry about people making fun of you having Christmas lights up in March. So go ahead….get those lights back out, plug them in and create a bright spot for everyone to enjoy!
